This course is suitable for all levels. It will cover the basic skills of jewellery making through demonstration, handouts and individual practice. If you have previous experience you will be able to develop and extend your knowledge and skills
As a beginner, you will learn the basic skills of jewellery making including piercing, filing, drilling, texturing, annealing, forming, soldering and polishing.
Intermediate and advanced learners will have the opportunity to work on individual projects, develop existing skills and learn new techniques.
Your tutor will work with you as a group and as individuals to support and guide you through your learning
We will supply all the tools and equipment needed for jewellery making.
All materials for the first session will be provided, after that you will need to supply your own metal and sundries such as saw blades. During the first session your tutor will advise what you will need and where to get it.
We encourage you to bring a sketchbook to keep notes, handouts, images and designs.
Please wear closed shoes to all sessions for Health & Safety reasons
I took a Silver jewellery making course and being a beginner I was looking to get a basic idea of the techniques and essential tools used. The level of support I have received from my teacher has been fantastic and she was always ready to help me with my projects. I have enjoyed the course immensely and have learned a lot from my teacher, who was always there for me with some friendly and expert advice.
I enjoyed the class. Sharla is a really good teacher and she explains thing in a nice way. I will come back.
