I have never made any jewellery before, which class is suitable for me?
You can try any of our one day courses such as the Jewellery taster, Make a Silver ring, Gems & Gemmology, or Silver clay classes.
If you would like to attend a longer course, most of our classes are suitable for all levels.
The course overviews all specify if any experience is necessary, so you could attend any courses that are suitable for beginners or mixed ability.
What do I need to bring to my first class?
For any one day course just bring yourself, all materials and equipment will be provided. In some cases additonal materials will be on sale if needed.
If you are attending a longer course it’s also a good idea to have a sketchbook or notepad, but this is not a requirement.
Your tutor will advise you what you will need and where to buy any other materials and sundries during your first lesson.
For all classes you must wear suitable footwear for safety reasons, these should be closed shoes, preferably something sturdy like trainers or boots.
It’s not advisable to wear smart clothing and aprons are provided.
How many people are there in each class?
Places are limited to 6 people per class to allow for lots of tutor time and support, as and when needed.
Om some lecture based courses such as Gems & Gemmology, we allow for up to 10 students.
Are materials included in the price?
All materials and equipment are included on the one day courses. In some cases additonal materials will be available to purchase on the day if required.
For longer courses all materials for the first lesson will be provided, your tutor will advise you what you need to buy for future classes and where to purchase them.
If you have previous experience we recommend that you bring materials to start work on individual projects.
What additional costs will there be?
Most of our one or two day courses include everything you will need.
On a few specialist courses you may wish to purchase additional materials to work with, but a sufficient amount is included as part of the course costs.
On our 6/7 week courses, everything is provided for the first session. After that you would need to purchase a few sundries. Initial costs come to around £10-15.
Beyond that it does vary, depending on what you choose to make for your own designs. Metal is sold per gram so it really depends on the size of pieces you want to make. To give you an idea, silver sheet for a ring costs around £3-5 . If you choose to make something large for your individual projects, your costs will be higher.
Where do classes take place?
All classes are held at our workshop at Unit 18, Sunbury Workshops, Swanfield St, London E2 7LF.
When do I need to pay for the course?
All payment should be made in full upon booking.
For students attending our Diploma courses, a payment plan can be arranged in advance.
What happens if I miss a class?
If you do not attend a one day course, you would not be eligible for a refund or transfer to an alternative date.
If you miss one or more sessions of any course running over more than one day, we are unfortunately unable to offer an alternative class. Your booking is only valid for the specific dates selected upon booking.
Your tutor will repeat any missed learning as much as possible in further sessions.
Can I get a refund?
In some cases a refund may be possible if sufficient notice of 30 days is given before the course start date, less an administrative charge. Please see our booking Terms & Conditions for further information.
If there are more than 48 hours before a course begins, we will try and sell the place for you on the website, however if no replacemet can be found, you would not be eligible for a reund or transfer.
No refunds can be given for courses that have already started, or for sessions that are missed.
Gift vouchers are non-refundable under all circumstances.
Is parking available?
Limited parking is available at the workshop by previous arrangement. We have one visitors permit that may be used unless needed by the course tutor or someone with mobility issues.
Paid parking in the area is available, and free after 6.30 pm. Street parking is free on Saturdays but not on Sundays when there are many markets in the area.

Do you offer courses or events for groups?
Yes, groups of up to 6 people at a time can book on a course through the online booking section of our website, providing enough spaces are available. Alternatively we can arrange a tailor made, one off course, or a private party, please contact us for more information.
What happens if you cancel a course?
In the unlikely event that we cancel a course, you will receive a full refund.
If one of a series of classes is cancelled, an alternative date will be offered for the whole group. In the event that a date cannot be offered, a refund for this class only will be refunded, or a voucher provided for the same value.
Is there an age limit?
Yes, students must be over the age of 16, unless they have permission to attend from a parent or guardian. We also require a health and safety waiver to be signed in regard to the student.
As the majority of our students are adults, most young students prefer to attend 1-2-1 tuition or attend with an acoompanying adult. Please email us for more information.
I have received a gift voucher for London Jewellery Workshop, what do I do now?
If you have a gift voucher you should first decide which course or workshop you would like to attend. Click on the Book a place button, then insert your unique discount code as it appears on your voucher into the relevant box on the booking pages.
If you experience any difficulties, please contact us with your discount voucher code and the details of the course you wish to attend, and we will book you in offline.
Vouchers are valid for one year from the date of issue.
My gift voucher has expired, can I still use it?
Gift vouchers are valid for 1 year from date of purchase.
After 1 year they are removed from the system and can no longer be used.
Voucher cannot be extended or refunded under any circumstances.
It is the responsiblity of the voucher recipient to use it within the date specified on the voucher.
