You will learn how to design and create your own unique silver chain. This course will allow you to explore making a variety of links, attachments and shapes, whilst learning about repeating elements and movement.
We will begin by looking at a variety of handmade chain samples, focusing on the form, style and proportions of the individual links as well as different ways of inter-linking.
Tutor demonstrations will cover jump ring making, forging and texturing, wire work, piercing and soldering, as well as making a clasp.
You will learn how to make a range of links using basic jewellery making skills, and join them together to create a unique finshed chain.
Your tutor will work with you as a group and as individuals to support and guide you through your learning.
You will be supplied with 2 metres of silver wire, as well as all the tools and equipment needed for jewellery making.
