This course is suitable for all levels. It will cover the basic skills of jewellery making through demonstration, handouts and individual practice. If you have previous experience you will be able to develop and extend your knowledge and skills
As a beginner, you will learn the basic skills of jewellery making including piercing, filing, drilling, texturing, annealing, forming, soldering and polishing. You will create a copper pendant and open ring, as well as a silver soldered band ring, set with a cabachon stone.
Intermediate and advanced learners will have the opportunity to work on individual projects, develop existing skills and learn new techniques.
Your tutor will work with you as a group and as individuals to support and guide you through your learning
We will supply all the tools and equipment needed for jewellery making.
Beginners will be provided with copper sheet for the first lesson, after that you will be able to purchase silver sheet, a stone and saw blades from your tutor. Experienced students will supply their own metal as usual.
We encourage you to bring a sketchbook to keep notes, handouts, images and designs.
Please wear closed shoes to all sessions for Health & Safety reasons
